NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Knights of Columbus will sponsor major U.S. celebrations coinciding with the canonizations of Pope John Paul II and Pope John XXIII on Sunday, April 27 in Washington, D.C.; New Haven, Conn.; and Los Angeles. In Rome, the Knights will also be active, lending financial support to Vatican television’s broadcast of the canonization ceremony, and hosting numerous pilgrims at K of C facilities.
April 26-27 weekend events will track John Paul’s elevation to sainthood by Pope Francis
Washington, D.C., April 17 -- The National Shrine of Pope John Paul II will be a major focal point of U.S. observances of the canonization of Pope John Paul II by Pope Francis on Sunday, April 27. In one of the weekend’s highlights, the facility will be renamed the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in a ceremony at 9:30 a.m. — just hours after the canonization in Rome.
We are again in that time of year when some of our councils look for new leaders among their membership. The request that you become an officer, director or chairman of your council is not just an arbitrary choice, but a calling. This is like a young man being called to be a priest but you are being called to lead others. This calling may come from another member of your council but God has had a hand in it. Funding assists amputees with prosthetic care and upgrades not covered by their insurance
New Haven, Conn. – One year after the Boston marathon bombing, the Knights of Columbus Stand With Boston Program is providing assistance for people who lost limbs in that tragic event.
The new Hope 360 Pregnancy Clinic in Oregon City, OR celebrated their official opening on March 1st with a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house. The clinic provides services to women who find themselves in an unplanned or unwanted pregnancy. Some of their services to encourage women are: free pregnancy tests, free limited ultra-sound, free baby items and educational material. The new ultra-sound machine was funded by the Knights of Columbus council 2325 in Oregon City.
